"It smells really weird in here!" I said when I walked into the AirBnB where we were staying in Oklahoma City. Paul walked in a second later and said "Wow, it really smells like gas!"

The source was a terrifying gas heater with a huge exposed pilot light with a few wires in front of it. Yes, just a big open flame placed right where anything could blow it out or blow into it and catch on fire. We were terrified that we might die in Oklahoma City because of the heater, but we all slept fine, and nobody even had to sleep on the floor because of the abundance of beds, futons, and fold-out ottomans to be had.

The next day, we had breakfast at Ingrid's, previously featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Dives, and Drive-Ins for their fine selection of rye breads, and drove 13+ hours back to Madison with a stop for dinner in Dubuque.

I got an email the day after we got back to Madison from one of the OKC bands that had previously said they'd like to play the show with us and then vanished from any further attempts at contact, saying "hey, is this show still happening?"
